Our class routines are highly predictable to support your little one’s development. You can expect a well-rounded experience that emphasizes connection and fun.
Free exploration at the beginning of every class
We start every class with free exploration so that your little one (and you!) have the chance to warm up to the space and explore the gym.
Little ones are predictably unpredictable. We know that loading up to head to class can go south real quick (cue the car seat meltdown or even a diaper blow out) so we have free exploration at the beginning of class to give parents a few extra minutes to arrive.
What is your little one learning during free exploration?
Free exploration time gives children the opportunity to be the leader in their learning. They get to choose what to try first and what excites them most about how the gym looks today. The equipment in the gym changes often (we like to rearrange the furniture), this time to explore allows your child to become familiar with their surroundings (this reduces the risk of injuries) as well as follow their own interests. For grown ups the gym is small, but for a baby the gym is a HUGE space.
Circle time is about adding connection
Circle time helps connect children with their coach, introduces the idea of warming up your body before physical activity, and introduces new skills. We start with gentle activities that engage their senses and lay the foundation for future learning. These sessions focus on basic movements, bonding and nurturing their curiosity! Get ready for some songs!
What is your little one learning during circle time?
We focus on building a positive experience with movement right from the start! The consistency and repetition in circle time supports memory formation, skill mastery, muscle memory, feelings of security, confidence, and trust. Our coaches are using the opportunity to engage with your baby and build trust through singing and eye contact. Songs support language development and singing together helps with social connection and cooperation!
Activities designed to develop your child’s strength, coordination, and independence
Your coach will provide you with four to five exciting activities, from gentle rolls to playful challenges! It’s time to choose your own adventure and explore the activities at your own place. We use themes in our learning like “Climbing Up & Down, Going Over & Under” to nurture learning and the development of a specific set of movement skills during class.
What is your little one learning through these activities?
The goal is to foster a love of movement from an early age. Learning will be child-directed and your baby will choose what interests them and lead the way in their learning. As you explore together, we foster a sense of discovery and bonding. The activities will help your child explore different movement skills each class.
A goodbye circle routine at the end of every class
Our goodbye circle is not only a great way to end the class but also an opportunity to reconnect with our classmates. We sing our Goodbye Song to keep the energy fun as we end gymnastics class. Every child (and parent) gets a stamp (if they want one!) at the end before heading out of the gym. Our goodbye circle time supports kids in the challenging transition of doing something SUPER fun to heading to the lobby to put on their socks and shoes.
What is your little one learning during goodbye circle?
Our goodbye circle time introduces babies to the idea of cooling down our bodies after high energy exercise. It’s a time to reconnect with our classmates and friends after independent play and activities. The routine of the goodbye circle support babies, toddlers, and little kids with the transition from high energy fun to leaving the gym and putting on our socks and shoes. Transitions can be really tough for kids! Our class routines are highly predictable to support your little ones development.
