We’ve have an adventurous class planned for your family

Every two weeks, we unveil exciting new lesson plans with awesome themes to support your child’s learning. Our approach to Themed Learning transforms each class into a thrilling and engaging adventure for both kids and families. With each theme, we aim to not only make the learning experience enjoyable but also to nurture the fundamental skills that set kids up with the self-confidence and skills they need to thrive in all sports.

What are our most common themes?

Gymnastics is the sport that offers athletes the best coordination, control, and agility. Our most common themes are locomotion, gymnastics shapes, inversions, long bodies, motorcycle landings, patterns and combinations, and rotations.

Get moving with locomotion

Mastering the fundamental movement skills of locomotion is like acquiring the basic building blocks of physical movement. These skills encompass everyday activities like walking, running, hopping, skipping, and jumping, which are essential for efficient and coordinated movement. They may not be as thrilling as dance moves, but they are the foundation for a lifetime of movement. Developing these skills in childhood is vital for overall motor development, setting the stage for a healthy and movement filled life.

Do you know your gymnastics shapes?

Gymnastics shapes are like the alphabet of the gymnastics world, and they're anything but boring! Mastering different body shapes is key to learning basic body control. You’ll see us learning about moving our bodies into straddle shape, tuck shape, and pike shape to set ourselves up with the foundation that we will need to explore skills later in the gym.

Get upside down with inversions

Flipping our perspective, we gain a whole new view of the world around us. Our smallest athletes will start by learning about the funny feeling of being upside down to lay the foundation for many skills. From handstands to cartwheels, inversions are a fundamental movement skills that not only provide a fun and thrilling experience but also enhance balance and coordination. Inversions add a touch of excitement to physical activity, making it feel like an adventurous journey with every somersault and headstand.

Stretch it out with long bodies

It's all about stretching and extending! In gymnastics, maintaining a long body shape is essential for achieving efficiency and power in movement. It's a functional tool that allows for better balance, stability, and fluid transitions between different skills.

Vroom Vroom! Motorcycle landings are essential

These landings, named after the motorcycle shape they form, are a stable, strong, and consistent way to touch down on two feet, ensuring that every landing is as smooth and safe. We start with launching and landing from the ground and gradually build up the skills to jump from heights.

Putting the moves together with patterns and combinations

Patterns and combinations are like creating a symphony of motion! Picture a child choreographing their own dance of play, mixing and matching these skills to express their creativity and style. These combinations not only build physical agility but also foster problem-solving skills as kids figure out how to put the pieces together. It's a joyful journey of discovery and self-expression, where every day is an opportunity for a new, energetic masterpiece of movement!

Roll with Rotations

Rotations are the exhilarating spin in the world of movement! Whether it's twirling like a tornado, rolling down a hill, spinning like a top, or somersaulting through the air, rotations add a thrilling dimension to movement. They showcase balance, coordination, and an adventurous spirit, turning every twist and turn into a captivating display of agility.
